The WatchFit app uses encryption solely to secure user data in transit and at rest through widely accepted standard technologies. Specifically:
- All data transmitted to and from the app is protected using HTTPS (TLS 1.2/1.3).
- User data stored locally is encrypted using standard iOS device encryption mechanisms.
- The app integrates with third-party services such as Firebase and OpenAI API, both of which use standard encryption (AES-256, TLS).
- WatchFit does not implement or use proprietary encryption algorithms.
- No custom or non-standard cryptographic functions are present in the app.
In accordance with Section 742.15(b) of the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), this app qualifies for the encryption exemption and does not require a full encryption export compliance submission.
